Teams you would like to see make a comeback
|
Sheffield Wednesday for me. They were a regular top flight club when I was young. Ron Springett (well named) was the England keeper for a while. Why them? I suppose I like the name, and partly my aversion to Sheffield United.

Slightly illogical D.B., if you don't mind me saying so. For every team that would come up a division, another would go down. There is nothing odd in preferring one club over another.

Soft fucking post. I personally dislike any other team and the majority of their fans would hate us anyhow. Ipswich are a bunch of fucking yokel simpletons especially.

Coventry, Ipswich, Forest - big clubs that have fallen off the radar a bit.
Coventry had 34 consecutive seasons in the top flight of English Football, but they now stand as a warning as to what can happen when you drop out and don't bounce back.

I agree with Sheffield Wednesday and Forest - partly because they're good cities to visit.
Sunderland is a crap hole and so not bothered about them coming back.

Charlton, when they were in the Prem and we were in the Championship, were basically making a play for fans to come and watch them from Essex and making statements about how they were as big as us etc. It was a bit annoying. But I don't remember anything in relation to Tevez.
Lots of clubs stuck their oar in over the move to the Olympic Stadium but it was mainly Spurs and Orient.

Charlton.
Not sure why, out of all the London clubs they were probably the only team I didnt/don't have a disliking to.

Really? In that programme the marketing exec bloke Mepham was trying to get the stoopid offcie/marketing girls to think creatively and understand just what a dire situation the club was in and just how important they were to not just the club but the community (the club is pretty much all they have up there) and they just looked at him blankly and went home at 5 every day. They hate Paolo but love the walrus and still fantasise about him reurning and have the biggest inferiority complex in football regarding their rivals. They harp on about six league titles when there effectively was about 12 pro outfits in the country. I don't miss them one bit. They deserve to be where they are.

Sunderland, their Netflix documentary made me feel sorry for their fans at how bad they’ve been ran last few years
Their fans deserve a bit of happiness after year after year of shite

My best mate and his two sons support Leeds. I used to go up there every season and sit with them and watch us get beaten. It was pretty depressing so there has been no other team in all the leagues that I have wanted as much as Leeds to be back in the same league as us. Tomorrow one of his boys is coming round mine and we will have a live zoom call with him and his other son. I really hope we win.

Forest. Always had a soft spot from them. No reason other than they played good football. Ways had a respect for clough.
Saw a game against them in the 80s (88?) Beat them 3-2. Cotter scissor kick. Amazing match. Liked them ever since.

Workington - get them back into what used to be the 4th Division, change the rules back to clubs only going down to the conference if they're voted out by their peers and then have Workington finish bottom again 10 seasons in a row.
Shoots old football leaue ladders....Workington were your friends, just stayed in the same spot for years.
